Race report
Agnieszka Skalniak-Sojka and Sandra Alonso attack on the first climb of the day. The Polish rider heads out alone, while Emma Norsgaard rejoins Alonso. The three come together on the second climb, Côte de Puycelsi, and open open up a maximum lead of over 2 minutes.
The gap has fallen to 20 seconds when Skalniak-Sojka and Norsgaard up the pace. Alfonso can’t follow, while Nordgaars drops Skalniak-Sojka with another acceleration in the last kilometres. She opens her sprint with 500 metres to go and stays 1 second ahead of Charlotte Kool. The Dutch rider wins the bunch sprint, but not the race. Norsgaard pulls it off and wins a sprinters stage from the breakaway.
Lotte Kopecky finishes in third to extend her lead on GC.
