Race report
Mathis Le Berre is the first attacker at kilometre 2 and Paul Lapeira and Michal Schlegel bridge across to him. The peloton is bunched again at kilometre 9.
The three give it another go, this time with time with Clément Davy, and that’s the right move. The four open up a 3 minutes lead.
Davy is the last rider to be reeled in just after the intermediate sprint before Samuele Battistella counter-attacks. He is caught inside the last 10 kilometres.
Green jersey Groves gets boxed in behind a crash in the finale, while Ganna opens the sprint early. Too early. Dainese pips him for the win in the dying metres of the race.
Kuss finishes safely in the bunch to extend his lead on GC.
