Race report
Rohan Dennis does not feel like the slow pace of the parade stage. The Australian opens a 1.30 minutes lead before he falls back into the main group.
Luke Plapp and Julius Johansen attack on the Madrid Circuit. The duo enters the last lap with a 13 seconds lead. The catch is made inside the last kilometre.
Ackermann’s lead-out man Molano is so powerful that he stays ahead of the entire field. Pedersen finishes in second, Molano’s leader himself in third.
Evenepoel finishes safely in the bunch to secure his first Grand Tour victory.
