Race report
Attacks are flying from the start. But no break after 42 kilometres of hard racing when Joan Bou and Ryan Gibbons give it a go. Jetse Bol, Magnus Cort and Bert-Jan Lindeman join the duo and the five open up a gap of 7 minutes.
The leaders enter the finish climb 20 seconds ahead of the main group.
Elissonde can’t follow the pace, while Cort and Lindeman push on together. The Dane drops the Dutchman in the last 700 metres.
Matthews tries to close down the gap in an all-or-nothing effort. Roglic takes over and powers on towards the wheel of Cort, but without regaining contact.
Cort takes the win, Roglic moves back into the overall race lead.
