Race report
Diego Rubio, Sergio Martin and Xabier Mikel Azparren attack from the gun. The trio carves out a lead of 4 minutes before the peloton takes the reins.
The gap has fallen to 1 minute when Rubio goes solo with 32 kilometres remaining. He is caught before the intermediate sprint.
The race comes down to a bunch sprint in the streets of Burgos Garmonal. Jasper Philipsen outguns Fabio Jakobsen, and Michael Matthews finishes in third position.
Primoz Roglic keeps the red jersey, while a number of GC riders are hindered by a crash inside the last 5 kilometres and lose time. Notably, Adam Yates and Hugh Carthy.
