The Lusail Circuit is located just outside of Lusail, a planned town to the north of capitol Doha. The project should be finished in 2022 when the FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar. The costs of the new city are estimated at 45 billion dollars and the World Cup final would take place in the to be build Lusail Iconic Stadium.
No worries, the Lusail Circuit is no fiction – the race-track is already a fact. Since the opening in 2004, it’s home to the Moto GP Qatar and in 2006 the circuit hosted the Grand Prix Masters of Qatar, a race won by Nigel Mansell.
During the individual time trial, the 5,4 kilometres track is to be taken twice. Last year, Michael Hepburn bested Lars Boom by 1 second.
The first rider starts at 13:40 local time and the last one around 16:05.
