Edition 6 of the Tour of Oman was held February 17-22. Mountains, hills, sprints, it was all on the menu. Rafael Valls took the overall by winning the stage to Green Mountain, making the Spaniard the successor of Chris Froome. (Slideshow route/profile)
Valls was a suprise winner with Vincenzo Nibali, Tejay van Garderen and Alejandro Valverde also at the start. The day after his Green Mountain victory another hilly ride, featuring the 20% Bousher Alamrat, was neutralized due to harsh weather. This was good news for Valls and in the closing stage he secured his overall win.
