Tour of Lombardy 2015The 109th edition of the Tour of Lombardy was won by Vincenzo Nibali, with Dani Moreno second and Thibaut Pinot third. After an early attack by Kwiatkowski and Wellens at the infamous Madonna del Ghisallo they were caught by the Astana squad at the Civiglio. The Shark of Messina attacked in the drop and he powered to victory in the last 17 kilometres. In arrival town Como he was celebrated as the first Italian victor since Damiano Cunego in 2008. Sunday, October 4th, 2015 - Overall the 2015 Tour of Lombardy is last year's route in reverse. Back then the riders headed from Como to Bergamo, this edition it is the other way around. The last classic on the cycling-calendar totals 245 kilometres and features both the Madonna de Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano. With a steepest section at 20%, San Fermo della Battaglia is the 2.7 kilometres closing climb, crested with 4.6 kilometres left.
