Edition 85 of the Tour of Britain is on the cycling calendar from Tuesday, 3 September to Sunday the 8th. The inaugural edition of the race was held in 1945, just after the Second World War, and after numerous incarnations – at times resulting in multiple editions during one season – the current version of the race began in 2004. The Tour of Britain is played out on flat to hilly terrain.
