Carmarthenshire hosted the Big Start in 2018. The race set off from Pembrey Country Park and it turned out to be a stage for the sprinters with André Greipel powering to victory in Newport.
The Carmarthenshire stage of 2021 is a team time trial. The route moves through the Tywi Valley before reaching the finish line at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Llanarthney. The first 12.4 kilometres are predominantly flat before a modest inclination of 500 metres is a prelude to a climb of 1 kilometres at 6% that will test the TTT trains.
With 2 kilometres remaining the teams descend to the flat final kilometre.
