Race report
A lot of movement after the start until Robin Carpenter, Nícolas Sessler, Jake Scott, Tom Mazzone and William Bjergfelt open a gap. The five carve out a maximum lead of almost 8 minutes.
Scott cements his lead in the mountains classification in alle three sprints for KOM points.
Carpenter drops Scott inside the last 26 kilometer to continue solo. He continues to lead the race with 4 minutes for quite awhile, but it comes down rapidly in the final kilometres.
Still, the atacker wins the race 33 seconds ahead of the charging peloton. Hayter outguns Peters in the sprint for second place.
Carpenter is the new race leader, 22 seconds ahead of Van Aert.
