Tour Down Under 2023 Route prologue: Adelaide

Tour Down Under 2023 prologueTuesday 17 January - The Tour Down Under returns after a 2 years hiatus to open with a prologue. Just 5.5 kilometers long, mostly flat, but with some technical turns.

The riders don’t stray far from the banks of the River Torrens, so the route is predominantly flat, although the organisation claims there is a ‘dive-bomb descent in the mix’. Bike handling will be of the essence, as the route features a number of tight tight turns. The finish is situated near the Elder Park Rotunda. As is the start, by the way, which is on the south side of the River Torrens Footbridge.

The prologue is a first for the Tour Down Under. In fact, there has never been a time trial in the race’s 24-year history.
