Tour Down Under 2016: Sprint victory Ewan stage 6, Gerrans overall winner
The 2016 Tour Dow Under closes the curtains with a local criterium in Adelaide. Caleb Ewan is in a class of his own, outsprinting Mark Renshaw by a bike length or two. For the fourth time in his career, Simon Gerrans takes the GC in his home race. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Laurens De Vreese, Lieuwe Westra, Carlos Verona, George Bennett and Adam Phelan are the first break clear, but they are brought back on lap 5. Thomas De Gendt and Maarten Tjallingii are more successful. They stick together until lap 16 and then Tjallingii goes solo. He is briefly accompanied by his country man Lieuwe Westra, but eventyally they are reeled in.
Caleb Ewan blows each and everyone in the sprint, while his teammate Simon Gerrans finishes second, thus securing his overall win.
