Fuglsang loses contact before the finish climb, while Higuita and Lutsenko can’t follow the pace early in the climb.
Yellow jersey Küng is distanced when Evenepoel strikes at the front. The World Champion opens a gap with Skjelmose and Gall in his wheel. Kelderman, Ayuso, Bilbao, Uran and Uijtdebroeks are the first chasers.
Gall attacks from the lead group with 2.5 kilometres to go. While Skjelmose goes after him, the chasers track down Evenepoel. Moments later Ayuso attacks.
