Race report
Luke Durbridge and James Whelan open up a gap before the first climb, while Whelan goes alone when the road start to point uphill. Rohan Dennis rejoins him after 24 minutes on the saddle to leave his young compatriot behind. Nicola Roche is chasing and Remco Evenepoel catches Durbridge just under the summit.

Dennis reaches the top 21 seconds ahead of Whelan with Nicolas Roche 35 seconds behind.

Roche moves up to second and Welen slips to third, while Chris Hamilton and Ben O’Connor are fourth and fifth at the crest of the second climb.

Dennis pushes on to win the race more than 1 minute ahead of Roche.
