Michal Kwiatkowski
The world champion will be pleased with the prospect of two time trials. Michal Kwiatkowski is a strong time trialist and one of the world’s best riders in hilly terrain. But the long arduous mountain stage to the Rettenbach glacier could be his Waterloo…
Thibaut Pinot
The 25-year-old Frenchman took the Queen Stage in the Tour de Romandie and he finished fourth in the overall, besting the likes of Quintana en Nibali. So Pinot is back with a vengeance after he finished on the podium in last year’s Tour de France. Time for a new leap forward by winning an important stage race.
Rafal Majka
The mountain king in the 2014 Tour de France obviously feels at home in mountainous stage races such as the Tour de Suisse. The Pole won last year’s Tour of Poland, was sixth in the Giro and made his KOM-win in the Tour even more glamorous by taking two stages. Decent time trialist, great climber – a good combination to shine in Switzerland
Riders to watch:
Simon Spilak, Tom Dumoulin, Domenico Pozzovivo, Robert Gesink.
