Race report
Froome started the day 1 second behind GC leader Simon Spilak but comfortably bested the Slovenian by winning the final stage in a performance that sent a clear message to those questioning his ability to retain his Tour title in July.
Spilak managed to take 2nd overall on GC while Rui Costa completes the podium.
Tony Martin will be disappointed to be beaten by Froome whie 4th place Rigoberto Uran showed some serious time-trial form that will help in his pursuit of Giro glory.
Vincenzo Nibali, on the other hand, has work to do before the Tour. A disappointing time trial sees him drop to 5th in the GC.
Jesús Herrada rode well to win the best young rider award.
