After leaving Bukowina Tatrzańska riders head for Poronin and it’s there the first circuit begins. The 5.3 kilometres ride is to be taken three times and each time yesterday’s finish Zakopane is halfway in the route.
Once back in Pronin, the race continues on a longer circuit through the mountainous surroundings. This one is ridden four times, while it totals 34.8 kilometres. Each round the climb to the village Ząb (at an elevation of 1,013 metres) lays waiting. Also en route is the drag up the Wall of Bukovina with a steepest section at 22%. The wall is crested with 10 kilometres left, but actually it is not over yet as the final climb to Tatrzanska is 1.5 kilometres at 11%. The steepest bit is at the start and nearing the top the climb flattens out.
The route of stage 6 is almost an exact copy of last year’s. Back then Rafal Majka soloed to victory wearing the leader’s jersey.
