The Tour de Femmes leaves Brittany on the third day. After the start in the picturesque town of La Gacilly, the riders head east. The Côte de Richardière, after 34 kilometers, is the only real challenge on the day, although challange may be too tough a word. It’s a 1.7-kilometre climb at 4.7%.
Heading towards the finish line on Boulevard Georges Clemenceau in Angers, the race passes through Châteaubriant on virtually flat roads. So, the pure sprinters are expected to have their first chance to shine in this year’s Tour.
In last year’s Tour de France Femmes, the sprinters had two opportunities. And on both occasions it was Charlotte Kool who took the win.
