Race report
Justine Ghekiere attacks on the Op de Col du Mont de Fourche. She is also the first rider before she opens a gap with Mischa Bredewold, Neve Bradbury, Amanda Spratt, Grace Brown, Amber Kraak, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, Silvia Persico, Valentina Cavallar, and Anouska Koster.
The attackers are brought back at kilometre 25.
Audrey Cordon-Ragot and Iurani Blanco jump clear in the flat phase leading up to the hills in the last 75 kilometres. The two are accompanied by Christine Majerus, Franziska Koch, Ellen van Dijk, and Fem van Empel before Anya Louw, Amber Pate, Nina Berton, Sheyla Gutiérrez, Julie De Wilde, Victoire Berteau, Maaike Coljé, and Anniina Ahtosalo also make it across.
Marianne Vos, Niamh Fisher-Black, Soraya Paladin, and Grace Brown make it eighteen at the front in the run-up to the Col de Ferrière. Ghekiere takes the most QOM points at the summit, and also at the Côte de Laviron.
The gap falls to 1 minute on the La Roche du Prêtre. This inspires Fisher-Black to attacks from the break. Paladin, Ghekiere, Brown, and Gutiérrez follow her move.
Fisher-Black heads out alone in the last 750 metres of the climb. Brown and Ghekiere regain contact just after the summit.
Juliette Labous and Pauliena Rooijakkers tale turns in attacking on Côte des Fins, which not only results in a reduced peloton, but also in the end of the breakaway. Puck Pieterse accelerates in the last phase and yellow jersey Kasia Niewiadoma and Demi Vollering follow her move.
Pauliena Rooijakkers and Cédrine Kerbaol go on the counter-attack. The French rider drops her Dutch colleague and opens up a 40 seconds gap.
Kerbaol powers on to take the best win in her career. Niewiadoma finishes safely in the chasing to retain the maillot jaune.
