Tour de France 2025 Route stage 9: Chinon - Châteauroux

Tour de France 2025Sunday, 13 July – The 9th stage of the Tour de France covers 170 kilometres on the roads between Chinon to Châteauroux. With an elevation gain of under 1,300 metres, this fast finishers are expected to shine.

The riders are approaching the heart of France in the 9th stage. It’s also a place where a legend was born. Mark Cavendish’ 35-stage winning streak kicked off in Châteauroux in 2008. He repeated that success at the same spot – Avenue de la Châtre – in 2011 and 2021.

So, Châteauroux is Cavendish Town. That really sums up the ultimate goal of the stage between Chinon and Châteauroux. It’ll be tough to avoid a bunch sprint. The course is extremely straightforward. Without facing any real climbs, the riders head from the historic wine town Chinon to the east to finish on the Avenue de la Châtre in Châteauroux. Who’ll succeed the Manx Missile?
