Tour de France 2024 Route stage 1: Florence - Rimini
Saturday 29 June - The Tour de France starts with a bang. Leading from Florence to Rimini, the 1st stage covers a 206 kilometres route with an elevation gain of 3,800 metres.
Following a flat run-up of 30 kilometres, the route ascends at moderate gradients to the foot of the Colle de Valico Tre Faggi. This 12.5 kilometres climb, with an average gradient of 5.1%, is crested after almost 50 kilometres.
A 25 kilometres downhill leads to the Colle Monte delle Forche – or, after the ASO’s Francization, Côte de Forche -, a 2.5 kilometres climb at 6.2%. The riders then continue onto the Côte de Carnaio, which is a 7.1 kilometres ascent at 6%. The first Tour stage of 2024 is almost halfway at the top.
Another long descent takes the riders to the hardest part of the route with four climbs within 50 kilometres. The Colle de Barbotto (5.8 kilometres at 7.6%), and the climbs to San Leo (4.6 kilometres at 7.7%) and Montemaggio (4.2 kilometres at 6.6%) precede a descent into San Marino. The last climb of the day leads in 7.1 kilometres at 4.8% to the capital of the dwarf state.
The summit of the ‘Côte de San Marino’ is crested with 25 kilometres remaining. The riders fly downhill into Italy before the last 15 kilometres are a flat run-in to the line.
The first three riders across the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6, and 4 seconds.

Hi
Can you inform about the exact location for the Grand Depart?
I have been doing some “detective” work and what i could found out was that the start will take place outside or nearby the Bartali museuum. Please confirm or provide info. We are arriving to Firenze in the morning and have planned for going to see the start.
Thanks a lot in advance
Best regards
Henrik Martinussen
Do you have a listing of the approximate START and FINISH times are for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the TDF2024?
Not yet. Probably, a month before the start. Unfortunately…
