Race report
Anthony Perez attacks from the gun with KOM leader Magnus Cort and the duo carves out a lead of more than 7 minutes. Cort cements his KOM lead at the first five summits before he stops his efforts. Perez is caught with 11 kilometers to go, when Jumbo-Visma ups the pace on the last climb of the day. Van Aert, Yates and Vingegaard reach the summit together.
The yellow jersey pushes on alone. While the peloton regroups, Van Aert holds off the chasers. He wins the race 8 seconds ahead of Philipsen, who crosses the line celebrating until he realises he finishes in second.
Van Aerts extends his lead in both the general classification and the points classification.
