At 212.5 kilometres, the 3rd stage in the Tour de France travels from Verviers to Longwy. The race is played out on a hilly course, while the finale commences with almost 20 kilometres left at the foot of Côte de Villers-la-Montagne, which is a 3 kilometres climb. Following a rolling section and a drop the last climb leads to the Citadel of Longwy. The road climbs in 1.6 kilometres with an average gradient of 5.8% gemiddeld. The first 500 metres are averaging 8.2%, so that’s the steepest bit before the climb flattens out.
