Tour de France 2014 Route stage 4: Le Touquet - Lille
Tuesday, July 8th marks the first French ride of the 2014 Tour de France. The bunch starts in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and finish in Lille after 163,5 flat kilometres. (Slideshow route/profile)
Le Touquet is a seaside resort in the north of France. The riders take a southward swing before finishing in Lille, which itself hosted Le Grand Départ in 1994. Chris Boardman grabbed the prologue that day, as well as the yellow jersey, with an average speed of 55.152 km/hour.
Le Touquet is on the Opal Coast where long ago people spoke in Germanic dialects. Enough of a reason to inspire Kittel or
Griepel for a sprint win?
The stage starts at 13:55 (CET) and the finish is expected to be around 17:30.
