It seems fitting given that riders representing Britain have won the last two additions. Also, sprint ace Mark Cavendish will be eyeing up stage wins on home soil and a possible stint in the yellow jersey.
As for Chris Froome, he will fancy his chances of retaining the title on what looks like a climber’s course. He will have tough competition however with Alberto Contador out for revenge after his failed Tour of 2013 and Vincenzo Nibali stating his goal for the year in no uncertain terms.
