The start in Paipa is just 15 kilometres west of the finish line in Duitama. The route features four local laps, while the lowest points lies at 2,495 metres and the highest point at 2,510 metres. So the elevation gain is next to nothing.
Last year’s Tour Colombia saw two sprint finishes, with Álvaro Hodeg and Sebastián Molano taking the spoils.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while three intermediate sprints (after each lap) come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds each.
