Just before the halfway point in each round the riders tackle a nasty climb of 1.3 kilometres at 6.6% and the last few hundred metres to the line are slightly uphill. But the rest of the route is far from flat either, so it will be a demanding race with a sprint of a reduced peloton the most likely outcome.
Start and finish are near the Atanasio Girardot Stadium, home to some of the most popular football teams of Colombia – Atlético Nacional and Independiente Medellín.
The first three riders on the line win time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while three intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
