Race report
The six men breakaway, featuring Bakelants, Niv, Bais, Albanese, Rivi and Velasco, opens a gap of 3 minutes.
The first circuit features three climbs to Pitoro. On two occasions Albanese is the first rider over the summit and the Italian takes the KOM jersey.
The remaining attackers – Bais and Rivi – are caught inside the last 11 kilometres.
Van Aert hits out first in the sprint, holding off Ewan who manages to come across with a ultimate dash to the line. Gaviria finishes in third.
