The 11th edition of the Strade Bianche Donne is played out on Saturday, 8 March. Amounting to approximately 140 kilometres, the women race from Siena to Siena with some 40 kilometres on gravel. The route travels on the same roads as the men’s race and the finale is an exact copy with the finish line at the illustrious Piazza del Campo in Siena after a short and steep climb. Lotte Kopecky won last year’s Strade Bianche Donne ahead Elisa Longo Borghini and Demi Vollering. It was her second triumph in Sienna, as the World Champion also turned out on top in 2022.
Annemiek van Vleuten is the only other rider who did win Strade Bianche Donne twice – in 2020 and 2019. Other former winners are Demi Vollering (2023), Chantal van den Broek-Blaak (2021), Anna van der Breggen (2018), Elisa Longo Borghini (2017), Lizzie Deignan (2016, then Armitstead), and Megan Guarnier (2015).
