Race report
Emil Vinjebo breaks clear once the flag is dropped. Nikodemus Holler, Samuel Leroux, Fumiyuki Beppu and Michal Paluta go with him, while Ibai Azurmendi bridges across later. The six reach the summit of the Montée du Sor with a 8.30 minutes lead.
When the riders enter the 50 kilometres finishing circuit in Cap Découverte the gap has fallen below 5 minutes. Which is not enough for the breakaway and the first attacker, Vinjebo, is the last to be reeled in inside the final kilometre.
Sonny Colbrelli outsprints Bryan Coquard and Niccolò Bonifazio in Cap Découverte. The Frenchman stays in the overall lead for one more day. The next challenge in the Route d’Occitanie is the Queen Stage.
