Race report
The riders tackle the Côte de Gilette from the gun. A group of thirteen riders – Neilson Powless, Andrey Amador, Laurens De Plus, Alexey Lutsenko, Anthony Perez, Julien Bernard, Kenny Elissonde, Thomas De Gendt, David de la Cruz, Sam Bennett, Mattia Cataneo, Dylan Teuns, Gino Mäder – jumps clear on the climb. They open up a gap of 3 minutes.
Perez wins Paris-Nice’s KOM competition after cresting the Côte de Gilette, Col de la Sigale and Côte de Saint-Antonin in first position.
The leaders tackle the finish climb 1 minute ahead of the main group.
Mäder is the last man standing in the last 5 kilometres, but when Roglic accelerates in the last kilometre his lead evaporates. The Slovene catches him just before the line to celebrate his third stage win in this year’s Race to the Sun.
