Paris-Nice 2014 Results 1st stage - Bouhanni wins

Christophe Laborie was the one man breakaway today, riding alone for more than 100 kilometres. His efforts didn’t go to waste as he picked up the mountain points on offer and wears the polka dot jersey tomorrow.

One of the pre-race favourites, Tejay van Garderen, had to leave Paris-Nice after 71 kilometres due to stomach problems.

The Giant-Shimano team looked to control the lead out but their main man Degenkolb couldn’t get past Bouhanni who had picked the best line in the finale.
