Race report
It’s a race of attrition if there ever was one. The peloton is down to 23 riders as they enter the final climb up the Blockhaus.
More riders lose contact on the climb, among them Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, third on GC. Juliette Labous struggles as well.
Neve Bradbury attacks halfway up the Blockhaus and Pauliena Rooijakkers tracks her down. Lotte Kopecky, Antonia Niedermaier and maglia rosa Elisa Longo Borghini bridge across a little later.
Bradbury goes again, this time to open up a lead of 1 minute over the first chasers, Longo Borghini, Kopecky, and Rooijakkers.
Bradbury solos to victory, while Kopecky opens the uphill sprint from far out. She can’t shake off Longo Borghini, and they finish second and third. Due to the bonus seconds, the world champion closes in on the pink jersey holder. The gap is only 1 second.
