Race report
Despite several attacks the pack is still when hitting the Muro Ca’ del Poggio. On the steep ramps Guarnier, Van der Breggen, Gillow, Spratt, Van Vleuten, Longo Borghini and Niewiadoma go on the attack. Van Vleuten takes most QOM points.
Following the descent it all comes together before Elena Cecchini gives it a go, but she is reeled in with 20 kms left. Clemilda Fernandes’ attack with 12 kms remaining is neutralised.
In the ensuing bunch sprint Hannah Barnes outpowers Lotta Lepistö and Kirsten Wild, while maglia rosa Van der Breggen finishes safely in the peloton.
