Race report

At km 16 Kirsten Wild and Audrey Biannic go on the attack. Cipriani, Salton, Tagliaferro, Moberg, Mackaij, Ryan, Sigaard, Leth and Buller chase them down before they are all brought back by the peloton.

At km 40 Hosking, Valsecchi, Ryan, Lepistö, Jasinska, Duval, Rivera and Plichta jump clear to race to a lead of more than 2 minutes. Ten riders try to chase them down, but to no avail.

With 19 kms to go the peloton reels in the break, while Anna van der Breggen, Kasia Niewiadoma, Amanda Spratt, Lucinda Brand, Elisa Longo Borghini, Megan Guarnier and Annemiek van Vleuten attack on the ultimate climb. Van Vleuten is first to crest to seal the victory in the QOM classification.

In the streets of Torre del Greco Megan Guarnier sprints to victory ahead of Amanda Spratt and Kasia Niewiadoma, while Anna van der Breggen pockets the GC of the Giro Rosa for the second time in her career.
