Given the course, it’s hard to imagine an outcome in Padova other than a bunch sprint. After the start in Fiera di Primiero, the route descends to the only KOM climb of the day. This is a 3.5 kilometres hill at 5.6% leading to Lamon.
The first 70 kilometres feature two more gentle uphills, while riders generally cruise downhill. The last 100 kilometres are as flat can possibly be.
Jonathan Milan took three out of five sprints until now. Tim Merlier and Olav Kooij are the winners of the other two sprints. The latter abandoned the Giro after the first rest day.
