Giro 2019: Withdrawals

The 102nd edition of the Giro d'Italia set off with 176 contestants. Cyclingstage.com kept track of riders who were forced to abandon.

Nishimura finished the ITT on the first day of action in 17.30 minutes. As there was a 30% time limit, the Japanese rider was eliminated.

Last year, the Giro d’Italia started with a field of 175 riders. Siutsou crashed hard on the course recon ride before the 1st stage. He was forced to abandon the race even before the start.

In the course of the race 25 more riders were forced to abandon.Thibaut Pinot, Tim Wellens and Fabio Aru were some of the most prominent abandonees. Read about the withdrawals of 2018.
