Race report
Shortly after the start in Forlí Sergey Firsanov and Marco Marcato are off, while Mirco Maestri chases them down. The trio races to a maximum lead of 7 minutes before the peloton takes them on a leash.
With 14 kms remaining the break is almost done when Maestri heads out on his own. He holds on for 7 kilometres before he is brought back, too.
In the ensuing sprint Fernando Gaviria outpowers Jakub Mareczko and Sam Bennett, just like he did in stage 5.
