Edition 100 of the Giro d’Italia was played out from the 5th of May until the 28th of May 2017. Tom Dumoulin won the overall ahead of Nairo Quintana and Vincenzo Nibali. The race featured a strong field with Thibaut Pinot, Ilnur Zakarin, Domenico Pozzovivo, Bauke Mollema, Bob Jungels, Mikel Landa, Steven Kruijswijk and Geraint Thomas all on the start list. Caleb Ewan, André Greipel and Fernando Gaviria were the most prominent sprinters.
