A break of sorts for the GC men after yesterday’s efforts and a day the sprinters will be hoping comes down to a bunch gallop in the streets of Rivarolo Canavese.

Fossano is a typical Italian town. An imposing castle that dates from the 14th century towers over the old town. No heights for the riders however with today’s stage almost all flat.

The riders continue north and with 22 kilometres remaining they pass the finish line for the first time. Strangely, there is an intermediate sprint just 13 kilometres from the finish line. The actual finish is on a downhill so expect a very fast bunch gallop.
