Giro 2014: Hills in stage 1 - Team time trial
Stage 1 in the 2014 Giro d’Italia is a 21.7 kilometre team time trial through the streets of Belfast. Most team time trials are flat and this one is no exception. (Slideshow route/profile)
Riders start is an altitude of 4 metres and are at the highest point after 7.9 kilometres, at the first intermediate checkpoint. The hill at Stormont is at just 60 metres, the climb being about 400 metres long.
After Stormont it’s 14 kilometres to the finish line. Some sharp turns follow but it’s not the most complex TTT.
