Vuelta 2022 Route stage 6: Bilbao – Pico Jano

Thursday 25 August - Stage 6 at La Vuelta is a test of 181.2 kilometres between Bilbao and the Pico Jano. The finish climb is 12.6 kilometres long and averages 6.6%, while the total elevation gain exceeds 4,000 metres.

En route in the 6th stage of La Vuelta, the riders tackle two official climbs and a series of unofficial climbs. Obviously, all this climbing will have added to the fatigue when they enter the Pico Jano. This is an unprecendented climb of 12.6 kilometres at 6.6%. GC clash, or attackers?

The first mountain stage of La Vuelta serves three classified climbs - two 1st category, one 2nd category. Without gaining any points Victor Langellotti stays in the polka dots. Jay Vine and Rubén Fernández are both 2 points down.
