Vuelta 2020: Philipsen sprints to rain-soaked triumph, Roglic retains red

At 230.8 kilometres, the 15th stage of La Vuelta serves a long race with a lot of head wind and an elevation gain of more than 4,000 metres. Surprisingly, the sprinters have it their way in Puebla de Sanabria. Jasper Philipsen outguns Pascal Ackermann in the slightly uphill finish, while Primoz Roglic retains the red jersey.

Vuelta 2020 Route stage 15: Mos – Puebla de Sanabria

Thursday 5 November - The 15th stage of La Vuelta is, at 230.8 kilometres, the longest race of this edition. With hardly a flat metre, the route travels from Mos to Puebla de Sanabria. The finish lies 17 kilometres after the last summit.

Vuelta 2020 Favourites stage 15: For the breakaway

The 15th stage includes five categorised climbs and a lot of unlabeled uphill stretches. Too hard for sprinters, not hard enough for GC riders. A successful breakaway is the most likely scenario.

Vuelta 2020: KOM victory almost sealed by Martin

The course of the 15th stage is running either up or down, still the amount of KOM points available is limited to five times 3, 2 and 1 points. Guillaume Martin is part of the breakaway, adding 13 points to his tally. One more to go and he takes home the polka dots.

Primoz Roglic leads La Vuelta's points competition from day one onward. The Slovene extended his lead gradually and he still leads with a comfortable margin.
