The riders travel over four intermediate ascents before tackling the brutal Angliru. Hugh Carthy attacks inside the last 2 kilometres and solos to victory ahead of Aleksandr Vlasov and Enric Mas. Richard Carapaz crosses the line 10 seconds ahead of Primoz Roglic to move into the overall race lead.

Vuelta 2020 Route stage 12: Pola Laviana – Angliru

Sunday 1 November - The 12th stage of the Vuelta a España is bound to bring spectacle. At 109.4 kilometres, the route takes in four intermediate climbs to finish uphill atop the iconic Angliru. The 12.4 kilometres ascent slopes at 9.9%.
