Stage 12 takes the riders in 173 kilometres from Andorra to Lleida. One serious climb on a hilly parcours, that turns out to become flat in the finale. Five escapees are caught in the last kilometre and then 22-yo Danny van Poppel sprints to victory. Aru retains the red jersey.

Tuesday, September 3, 2015 - In the 12th Vuelta stage it’s ‘bye-bye Andorra’ as the riders are off for a 173 kilometres race to Lleida. After yesterday’s demolition-work it’s time to relax with a lot of downhill. Sprinters who are still fresh after the Andorra mountains are in bonus today.
