Tour de France 2017: Uran sprints to victory in hectic race, Froome still in yellow

At 181.5 kilometres, the 9th stage of the Tour de France takes in seven intermediate climbs - three of which are hors catégorie - to finish downhill in Chambery after a technical descent. Rigoberto Uran sprints to victory ahead of Warren Barguil and Chris Froome, who retains in the overall lead. Geraint Thomas and Richie Porte crash out of the Tour, while Quintana and Contador lose time.

Sunday, 9 July 2017 – In the 9th stage of the Tour de France riders get served a hearty mountain 181.5 kilometer long dish in the Jura mountains. Before a downhill arrival in Chambery, the route takes in seven cols and 4,600 vertical metres. Double digits climbs, yes sir.

The 9th stage in the Tour de France gives the floor to the climbers for the second day in a row. Yet, without a good descent your chances are limited. After the last climb a steep drop runs to the flat last 10 kilometres.
