Giro 2017: Van Garderen wins thriller in Dolomites, strong Dumoulin still in pink

The 18th stage of the Giro takes in intermediate climbs up Passo Pardoi, Passo Valparola, Passo Gardena and Passo di Pinei to travel to a summit finish in Ortisei. Van Garderen brings an early break home by besting Landa in a two-up sprint, while Tom Dumoulin is strong in pink and holds off attacks by his main rivals Quintana and Nibali.

Volta a Catalunya 2017: Valverde outsprints Dan Martin in La Molina, Van Garderen new leader

With a 188.3 kilometres stage the Volta a Catalunya heads out into the Pyrenees. The route takes in three ascents, while the last one - to La Molina - is on the menu twice. Yet, the GC-men keep their powder dry and the race boils down to an uphill sprint with Alejandro Valverde besting Daniel Martin. Tejay van Garderen takes the overall lead.

Tour de Suisse 2016 Stage 7: Van Garderen wins Queen Stage, Barguil new leader

Stage 7 is the Queen Stage of the 2016 Tour de Suisse. At 224 kilometres, the race features two mighty passes halfway, yet the big showdown is saved for last. At the steep slopes leading up to the Rettenbach Glacier leader Kelderman gets dropped, while Van Garderen attacks to solo to victory. Warren Barguil finishes in third and is the new overall leader.

Ruta del Sol 2016: Van Garderen bests Kelderman by 2 seconds in ITT and new leader

At 21 kilometres, stage 4 in the Ruta del Sol is an ITT on hilly terrain with a steepest ramp at 15% and an uphill arrival. Tejay van Garderen takes a close win, only 2 seconds ahead of Wilco Kelderman. The American is the new leader with the Dutchman breathing down his neck.
