In theory, stage 1 in the Tour de Romandie is a mountainous affair. Altough the route takes in five climbs, the race comes down to a bunch sprint in Champéry. Albasini outsprints Ulissi, while Felline holds on to the leader's jersey.

Tour of the Basque Country 2017: Albasini outsprints Richeze, Matthews in fourth and still leader

The 2nd stage of the Tour of the Basque Country travels from Pamplona to a Eltziego. Although the route takes in a number of climbs the race ignites with a bunch sprint. Michael Albasini outpowers Richeze and De Bie, while leader Michael Matthews comes in fourth.

Tour de Romandie 2016: Stage 5 – Albasini brings early break home, Quintana overall winner

In the closing stage of the Tour de Romandie a super break with Chris Froome colours the race. The winner of yesterday's Queen Stage is dropped in the finale and Kelderman, Amador, Verona and Albasini power to the line. Tom Bohali storms alongside in the last kilometre, but Michael Albasini takes him back to sprint to victory. Nairo Quintana is the overall victor in the 2016 Tour de Romandie, with Thibaut Pinot in second and Ion Izagirre in third.

Tour de Romandie 2015: And that’s two… Albasini wins 3rd stage!

After a hilly stage the last climb is crested with 25 km's left. A long drop to the finish line and then the sprint is won by Michael Albasini. Not only his second win in a row, as he won three stages in 2014 this makes the Swiss a five time stage-winner in the last nine stages in Romandie.
