The Giro 2015 is off with a team time trial in 17.6 kilometres. The race is won by Orica GreenEdge with Simon Gerrans taking the first pink jersey. Contador is the best GC-men, Aru second and Uran third.

Saturday, May 9, 2015 – Just like last edition the 2015 Giro d'Italia opens with a team time trial, this time along the Mediterranean coast to finish at the arrival point of La Primavera. In 17.6 kilometres riders head from San Lorenzo al Mare to San Remo.
